Why I Built MedTrack — NEILIAN.DEV

Story time! As a parent, the moments when your child gets sick are very scary. Nervousness and worry set in. And at every checkup, there’s a question we can never answer.

“What was the last antibiotic for this baby? We can’t be prescribed the same level of antibiotic within 3 months.”

And the world stopped… Shocks, what was it again? It had “cin” in the name, I think.

The baby book that got lost

“Hon, let’s get organized. Let’s keep all the prescriptions and put them in the baby book.” Time flies, the baby isn’t sick anymore, back to normal gaming. And then, “Sickness is waving again.”

“Where did we put the baby book?” “What was the date of our last checkup?” Lost again.

Cacay’s question

And then Cacay asked me, “What if you made an app, Pap, so we can track BBL’s medications?”

Right? But wait. Before building, I did some research first, in case one already existed. I didn’t want to tire myself out building something that was already out there. I searched the Play Store and Google for any medication tracker. I found many apps, and I noticed the following:

“Needs internet connection.” “With so many ads.” “Not so very user friendly.”

Then I decided, “Okay, let’s build it. It’s just us who’ll use it anyway.”

“Offline first.” “Ad free.” “Easy to use.”

And guess whose profile was the first one added? 🙋‍♂️ (Mine, haha.) I got sick 🤣. I was the first to have a medication entered, instead of BBL 🤣. Then I had a tooth extraction, and I used MedTrack to tell our dentist that I had taken an antibiotic a month before the procedure.

So in short, yes, it’s working. It helped me, it helped us. And I am offering this to the world (chaaar), to you 🫶.

That’s it
